Desheng Bridge
Desheng Bridge is a cultural heritage site protected at the district level in Keqiao District.
Desheng Bridge is located in Keqiao Village, Keyan Subdistrict, Keqiao District (or under the jurisdiction of Shangshitou Neighborhood Committee). Originally built during the Ming Dynasty and reconstructed in the Xianfeng era of the Qing Dynasty, it consists of a main bridge and an approach bridge, both stone-beam bridges oriented east-west, spanning the Dadu River. The total length of the bridge is 56 meters. The main bridge has three spans, measuring 24 meters in length; the bridge deck is paved with four-piece stone beams laid east-west, with railing panels and balusters on both the north and south sides, and the tops of the baluster posts are carved with crouching lions. The middle span features the three characters "Desheng Bridge" (得胜桥) inscribed in regular script on the outer side of the two southern stone beams, while the outer side of the southern railing panel bears the inscription "Reconstructed on an auspicious day in the Gui Month of the Xianfeng Year of the Great Qing" (大清咸丰年桂月吉旦重建) in regular script. The bridge piers and the abutments at both the east and west ends are constructed with staggered stone slabs, topped with cap stones to support the bridge beams. The upper parts of both the east and west abutments are equipped with steps—the eastern end has ten steps, while the western end has seventeen stepped ramps with vertical edging, and stone railing panels are installed on both the north and south sides. The approach bridge has seven spans, with a total length of 32 meters, and has an "S-shaped" layout. The bridge deck paving and pier structure are the same as those of the main bridge, but the railing panels on both sides of the approach bridge do not have balusters.
Desheng Bridge features a unique design and majestic presence. It is closely related to other local cultural heritage sites under county-level protection, such as the Yao Zhangzi Memorial Monument, Wan’an Bridge, and Juewo Tu. It stands as a historically significant architectural relic. In December 2002, it was designated as a county-level cultural heritage conservation point, and in March 2012, it was officially listed as a county-level cultural heritage protection unit.
