The Lanting Calligraphy Museum is currently China’s largest thematic museum dedicated to calligraphy. It is also the first specialized museum themed around the “Preface to the Poems Composed at the Orchid Pavilion” (“Lanting Xu”), comprehensively and systematically showcasing Lanting calligraphy and culture. (The museum has a total construction area of 12,191?, with the building divided into three floors. The first floor houses the entrance hall, basic exhibition hall, themed landscape hall, VIP hall, lecture hall, and sales area. The basement level contains temporary exhibition halls and a premium exhibition hall. The second floor is designated for office space. The entire museum continues the architectural style of traditional Shaoxing-style buildings, respecting the ambiance of Lanting. Dominated by gray tones, its height, volume, and form harmonize with the surrounding landscape of Lanting and its cultural essence. Employing modern design techniques and traditional sloped roof forms, the museum exudes elements of traditional culture, resulting in a grand, simple, and elegant structure.)
