Keqiao District Museum
The Keqiao District Museum of Shaoxing City, also known as the Yue State Culture Museum, is located in the Mingzhu Cultural Plaza in Keqiao District, Shaoxing. It is a key part of the district’s major cultural facilities known as “Three Museums and One Plaza” and was opened in 2007. The museum covers a construction area of 6,800 square meters, with an exhibition space of over 4,000 square meters, and includes three thematic exhibition halls — the “Yue State History Hall,” the “Shaoxing Wine History Hall,” and the “Textile History Hall” — as well as two temporary exhibition spaces. Through the exhibits in these three differently themed halls, the museum presents a comprehensive and multi-dimensional view of the profound ancient Yue civilization and the long history of Shaoxing’s traditional industries.
Since its opening, the Keqiao District Museum has fully performed its role as a museum by actively organizing various social activities, hosting high-level temporary exhibitions and academic exchanges, establishing partnerships with multiple schools, and becoming a patriotic education base in Keqiao District. Its permanent exhibition has been awarded the Zhejiang Provincial Exhibition Excellence Prize.
The Keqiao District Museum is open to the public free of charge all year round. Except for Mondays when the museum is closed, it is open daily from 9:00 AM to 4:30 PM. The museum is staffed with professional guides who provide enthusiastic and attentive tour services for group visitors.
