Haositng Pavilion

Haositng Pavilion is a cultural relic protection unit of Longwan District.

Haositng Pavilion is located in Haisi Village, Lingkun Town, Longwan District. It was built in the third year of the Xianfeng reign during the Qing Dynasty (1853). The structure is wooden, featuring diagonal beams at its four corners and a pyramidal roof. Inside the pavilion is an inscribed stone tablet written by Tong Zhaorong. Tong Zhaorong (1835–1905), courtesy name Xiaofu, was a native of Ningxiang, Hunan. He became a successful candidate in the imperial examinations in the sixth year of the Tongzhi reign (1867), and was promoted to the position of Wenzhou-Fuzhou Dao in the 27th year of the Guangxu reign (1901). During his tenure, he repaired dikes, dug irrigation canals, encouraged agriculture and sericulture, promoted education, and cared for the people. He passed away in office on July 16, 1905. His biography is recorded in Draft History of Qing, and he authored the six-volume Collected Works of Magistrate Tong of Wenzhou-Fuzhou.
