The intensity of exercise varies depending on the difficulty level of different routes, so hikers should proceed according to their own abilities.
The Longwantun and Mulin sections, as Phase I of the project, are planned to feature a trail structure of “2 main routes + 10 loop routes.” This layout maximizes the connection between scenic spots, cultural heritage sites, folk villages, fruit-picking gardens, catering services, and other facilities in Mulin Town, Longwantun Town, and surrounding areas, creating a “value chain” that revitalizes existing resources.
The starting point of Phase I is Anlilong in Longwantun, and the endpoint is Tangzhishan in Mulin, with 125 kilometers constructed this year. Currently, 35 kilometers of earth and stone roads for the main route from Anlilong to Jiaozhuanghu, and 10 kilometers of branch roads have been completed in the Longwantun section; all signage systems and auxiliary facilities from Anlilong to Shuntian Manor have also been finished. In the Mulin section, the 13.8-kilometer main route is largely open, with detailed repairs currently underway; 3 kilometers of branch earth and stone roads have been completed. It is expected that by the end of this month, the main hiking trails in both the Longwantun and Mulin sections will be fully connected; by the end of September, both main and branch routes will be fully operational, with the 125-kilometer trail linking 38,000 acres of mountain forests and over 9,000 acres of fruit orchards along the hills. The trail will open to the public in October. The Wucai Qianshan Waterfront National Hiking and Fitness Trail has a total planned length of 280 kilometers, connecting the five shallow-mountain towns of Longwantun, Mulin, Zhangzhen, Dasungezhuang, and Beishicao. It includes six comprehensive service stations, located respectively at Phoenix Mountain in Beishicao, Tangzhishan in Mulin, Jiaozhuanghu and Anlilong in Longwantun, Lianhuashan in Zhangzhen, and Wuliangge in Dasungezhuang. Once fully completed, it will become an internationally leading and domestically first-class hiking and fitness trail that integrates self-driving, mountain biking, and hiking trails in a “trinity” model, and will establish itself as a nationally renowned urban sports destination and eco-tourism consumption hub.
