On the bridge over the moat at the South Gate of Bayon Temple, you can see Asuras with bulging eyes holding the serpent’s head and gods with almond-shaped eyes holding its tail, standing on either side of the bridge. The bas-reliefs on the walls of Angkor Wat also intricately depict the “Churning of the Ocean of Milk” myth, stretching 49 meters in length. The captivating Apsaras, alone within Angkor Wat, number over 1,800, adorning the outer walls of the four main gates and the inner and outer walls of the central sanctuary. Some Apsaras are depicted flying through the sky in sheer garments, while others stand gracefully atop lotus flowers. Their ornate headdresses, adorned with earrings, necklaces, bracelets, armlets, and anklets, each display unique expressions and poses.
