Zhumu Bridge

Zhumu Bridge is a cultural relic protection unit of Longwan District.

Zhumu Bridge is located in Liuzhai Village, Yongzhong Subdistrict, Longwan District. It was first built in the first year of the Chunxi era of the Song Dynasty (1174). This stone three-span beam bridge runs east-west, crossing Liuzhai River. It is 15.00 meters long and 1.52 meters wide. The south side of the stone beam bears an inscribed inscription in relief reading “Built on the 24th day of the month of Jiyou, the ninth month of the year of Jiazi, in the first year of Chunxi (1174)” in 20 characters, while the north side features a regular script inscription in relief that reads “□□Guihai Gaoyuan Zhangjia□□□Long□Bridge□□□” in 17 characters. Legend has it that the bridge was funded through donations collected by Monk Yiqian of Qianyuan Temple during the Song Dynasty from local devotees, hence the name “Zhumu Bridge,” meaning “Donation Bridge.”

Liuzhai Village: Liuzhai Village enjoys a superior geographical location and boasts a long history and culture. It is situated in the southern part of Yongzhong Subdistrict and was once the central village of Yongchang. Yongchang Road runs through the center of the village, linking to Yongqiang Avenue to the east and Industrial Street to the west, while Luonandong Street traverses the village, ensuring well-developed road transportation and a rational river layout. This infrastructure lays a solid foundation for economic development and regional advantages in rural growth. The village has a total population of 1,056 and 239 households. The administrative area covers 2,213 mu, including 150 mu of arable land, and nearly 1,998 mu of forested mountain land.
