Recommended Attractions Introduction:
Sanzhong Waterfall: Sanzhong consists of two cascading waterfalls connected vertically, dropping about 90 meters. Below the waterfall is a circular pool about 900 square meters in size. During the high-water season, the waterfall crashes into the deep pool with a thunderous sound resembling a grand bell, hence it is called Golden Bell Pool, also known as Thundering Pool in ancient times. On both sides of the pool, there are stone chambers. Outside the southern stone chamber, there is a standing stone wall resembling a stone gate, which visitors call a natural changing room; the northern one can accommodate over 20 people, where you can fully enjoy the spectacular view of the waterfall.
Tomb of Wu Qi: Located behind the house to the north of the stop in Wuzhai Village. Originally built in the first year of Tongguang during the Later Tang Dynasty (923 AD), it was renovated in the third year of Daoguang during the Qing Dynasty (1823 AD). Covering an area of about 900 square meters in a chair-like shape, the front of the tomb is inscribed with Wu Qi’s poem “Night Hall Chant.” In the 13th year of the Jiajing era of the Ming Dynasty, the “Record of the Renovation of the Tomb of Wu Gong, Minister of the Tang Dynasty” written by Wang Shuguo was erected in front of the tomb. In 1990, local residents raised funds to renovate the “Wu Qi Mausoleum,” constructing a memorial stele for Wu Qi, Minister of the Tang Dynasty’s Remonstrance Office, with the inscription written by the famous calligrapher Ouyang Zhongshi. In 1982, it was listed as one of the first batch of cultural relics protection units at the county level.
Sanyou Cave, Jinxiu Valley, and Chuitian Fanjing: Located at Puyang Shuiwei (i.e., on the cliff of Jingu Nunnery Mountain). It was where three Jinshi scholars from the Song Dynasty, including Wu Taihe, taught and passed on knowledge. It retains cliff inscriptions such as “Jinxiu Valley” and “Sanyou Cave,” along with the ruins of Shufangping. “Jinxiu Valley” is horizontally inscribed in relief, in regular script in Yan style, with a total width of 1.62 meters; about 19 meters away from “Jinxiu Valley,” there is another cliff inscription of “Sanyou Cave,” in straight regular script, with a total height of 1.05 meters and clear characters. Along the Nanpu Stream, the craftsmanship of nature has created numerous natural attractions. Chuitian Fanjing is a rock pillar formed by long-term erosion from streams on both sides, standing about 11 meters tall with steep surrounding walls, resembling a rural kitchen steamer. A few pine trees on top sway gracefully, resembling curling cooking smoke, hence the name “Chuitian Fanjing” (Cooking Steam Steamer). The green pines and unique rocks reflect in the green water, making it a unique sight in Nanpu.
