Balang Bridge

Balang Bridge is located in Yutangkou Village, Lingxi Town, Cangnan County, and was first built during the Southern Song Dynasty. It runs from north to south, measuring 18.80 meters in length, 1.15 meters in width, and about 4 meters in height. This five-arch stone beam bridge has three stone slabs laid atop each arch to form the bridge deck, giving it a slightly arched structure. The bridge piers are built with regularly cut stone blocks arranged in a trapezoidal pattern, topped with one long and one short horizontal stone beams. The bridge abutments at both the northern and southern ends are constructed with square-shaped block stones. The outer side of the middle arch bears an inscription in regular script that reads: “Built in the year of Chunxi Dingwei (1187) by Lin Qilang, a third-rank official.”
