Introduction: After taking in the jagged peaks, grotesque rocks, perilous waterfalls, deep pools, hidden caves, and treacherous shoals—all embodying a rugged masculinity—you arrive at Bai Shangtou, where a whole new world awaits, offering a completely different experience. Covering an area of 5.4 square kilometers with a water storage capacity of 60 million cubic meters, Tian Ding Lake sits majestically over 630 meters above sea level, embraced by rolling mountains. The former Nantian region was known as Jiudu, or “Nine Districts,” with a local saying: “Jiudu has nine ridges, each leading to Tian Ding.” Hence the lake’s name. Tian Ding Lake boasts over ten islands—some lush with greenery, some crowned with dense forests, some scattered with red sands, some blanketed in wildflowers, some topped with abrupt peaks, others as flat as a mat.
