At around 7 p.m. on June 23, the police station in Yuhu Town, Wencheng County, Wenzhou City, Zhejiang Province, received an emergency call reporting that a team of ten hikers had encountered danger near the DongSanDian Reservoir in Zhuya Community, Yuhu Town. Two of them had died. As of press time, rescue teams from Wenzhou, Hangzhou, and other areas had arrived one after another, and the rescue work was still ongoing.
According to reports, after receiving the call last night, local police and residents in Yuhu Town immediately organized over 40 people to conduct an overnight search and rescue mission in the mountains. After more than six hours of effort, they found the bodies of the two deceased at around 2:00 a.m. However, because the incident occurred in a valley, the bodies could not be removed for the time being. Those involved in the overnight rescue included members of the Wencheng County Fire Brigade, the County Armed Police Squadron, the Yuhu Town Police Station, the local mountain rescue team, and some residents of Zhuya Community.
