Youshan Pavilion

Youshan Pavilion is a cultural relic protection unit of Wencheng County.

Youshan Pavilion is located near the bus station in Yuhu Town, Wencheng County. It features a double-eaved hip-and-gable roof, a four-pillar post-and-lintel wooden structure, and has a square floor plan measuring 5 meters in both width and depth. Benches are attached between the side pillars for people to sit and rest. The pavilion is adorned with a five-ring octagonal caisson ceiling, and the architraves and brackets are finely carved in relief. The rear wall is painted with theatrical murals and houses a shrine for incense offerings. The interior retains a plaque inscribed with the construction date of the seventh year of the Tongzhi reign during the Qing Dynasty (1868), reading “Youshan Pavilion.” Local legend says that the pavilion was built by a master craftsman who spent three years constructing it, strictly adhering to the proportions and components of Qing-style pavilions and halls. It remains well-preserved to this day.
