Longchuan Guanyin Pavilion

Longchuan Guanyin Pavilion is a cultural heritage site protected by Wencheng County.

Guanyin Pavilion is located in Xiacun Village, Longchuan Township, Wencheng County. Built in the 21st year of the Daoguang reign during the Qing Dynasty (1841), it consists of a ceremonial gate, the Guanyin Pavilion, and side wings. The ceremonial gate has a brick-and-wood structure, spanning three bays in width and two bays in depth. Each side wing spans three bays in width, with a total width of 13 meters and a depth of 2.5 meters. The Guanyin Pavilion is a two-story wooden structure, measuring 9 meters in both width and depth. Benches and railings are installed along the corridors on both sides, and inside is enshrined a statue of the Goddess Guanyin. The beams and caisson ceilings are densely painted with intricate designs, mainly featuring flowers and birds, landscapes, and theatrical figures. One painting is signed with the Xianfeng era (1851–1861) of the Qing Dynasty. The theatrical paintings depict stories from classics such as “Journey to the West,” “The Romance of the Western Chamber,” “The Investiture of the Gods,” and “Romance of the Three Kingdoms.”
