Fu Xiangguo Ancestral Hall

Fu Xiangguo Ancestral Hall is a cultural heritage site protected by Wencheng County.

Fu Xiangguo Ancestral Hall is located in Wuxi Village, Xikeng She Ethnic Town, Wencheng County. It was first built in the 29th year of the Qianlong reign during the Qing Dynasty (1764) and rebuilt in the 22nd year of the Daoguang reign (1842). The structure is a two-courtyard, corridor-style compound facing east and covering an area of approximately 1,200 square meters. Both the front hall and the main hall have seven bays, while the side corridors each have three bays. The central bay of the front hall is a stage, directly opposite the main hall, measuring five meters in both depth and width. Side bays on either side of the stage house entrance gates, and six pairs of flagpole stone bases are aligned in parallel in front of the entrance hall. The central bay of the main hall houses a seated statue of Fu Bi, flanked by statues of attendants. A plaque inscribed with “Fu Xiangguo Ancestral Hall” hangs in the front hall, while the main hall features one that reads “Promoting Loyalty and Virtue.” According to the 23rd year of the Daoguang reign (1843) in the “Continuation of the Fu Family Genealogy ● Record of Rebuilding the Ancestral Hall,” the original name was “Zhongxiao Ancestral Hall” (Hall of Loyalty and Filial Piety), dedicated to Fu Bi, the renowned Northern Song Dynasty statesman and Duke of Korea, as well as Fu Tao, the founding ancestor of the Fu lineage in Wencheng County and former Prefect of Songzhou in the Tang Dynasty. The 1843 “Nantian Mountain Records ● Construction” states: “Fu Prefect Ancestral Hall, located in Wuxi Village, was rebuilt in the 23rd year of the Daoguang reign (1843) and is dedicated to Fu Tao, the Tang Dynasty Prefect of Songzhou, along with Fu Bi, the Duke of Korea from the Song Dynasty.”
