Jingyin Temple

Jingyin Temple is a cultural heritage site protected by Wencheng County.

Jingyin Temple is located in Chengdi Village, Shuanggui Township, Wencheng County. Originally built as the Temple of the Five Manifestations in the 15th year of the Guangxu reign during the Qing Dynasty (1889), it was reconstructed in the 4th year of the Republic of China (1915) and first named Jingyin Temple. The temple covers a total area of 2,500 square meters. The Mahavira Hall has been recently renovated, featuring a seven-bay width and three-bay depth. It has a double-eaved hip-and-gable roof, and its beams and brackets are modeled after Qing-style architecture, giving the structure a grand scale. The front inner courtyard is paved with stone slabs, flanked by side halls. In front of the courtyard is the Holy Gate, which is a timber-and-stone structure. To the left of the main hall stands a 41-step stone staircase adorned with lotus carvings. This staircase leads up along a corridor that is 13.5 meters high and 3 meters wide to the Western Hall. The Western Hall is a single-eaved hip-and-gable wooden structure, similar in width and depth to the main hall, but with a simpler and more rustic appearance.
