Qiaotou Well

Qiaotou Well is a cultural relic protection unit of Wencheng County.

Qiaotou Well is located in Qiaotoujing Village, Danian Town, Wencheng County. It was first built in the 35th year of the Jiajing reign during the Ming Dynasty (1556), formed by three natural rock formations, and was called "Cool Water Well." In the 47th year of the Wanli reign (1619), the well was constructed into a circular shape with rocks, and in the 26th year of the Daoguang reign during the Qing Dynasty (1846), it was rebuilt into a square shape using block stones. In 1990, it was renovated with funds raised by the local village committee and transformed into a rectangular stone structure. The well is enclosed by brick-lined coping, standing 60 centimeters high, with stone steps laid around it. The well water remains cool and sweet to this day and does not dry up even during prolonged droughts.

In 2006, it was awarded the title of Zhejiang Provincial Civilized Town.
