Located at No. 73 Chengxi Street, Lucheng District. It was built in the fourth year of the Guangxu reign during the Qing Dynasty (1878) by American missionary Sopiqing, later burned down, and rebuilt in the 24th year of the Guangxu reign (1898). Covering an area of 1,578 square meters, the church faces east with its back to the west. It includes a front and rear main hall (worship hall), a smaller hall (Gospel Hall), and twelve traditional Chinese-style rooms. The main hall features Gothic architectural style, standing 13.45 meters high with a cross atop the ridge, giving it a solemn and magnificent appearance. The construction and decoration are highly refined, rich in religious character. It is the oldest and largest Christian church in Wenzhou. Two stone tablets remain inside the church: the “Record of the Rebuilt Holy Hall” engraved in 1898, and the “60th Anniversary Monument of the Wenzhou Methodist Church” from 1938.
