The Xikeng Transport Station was composed of over 10 communication points, including Xikeng and Shijiao in Tengqiao, Dongkeng in Shuangchao, Libakeng, Xiaodanwangkeng, Baijiao’aoshigulujidi in Aodi, Tiantangtou, Jin’’ao’aotou in Linjiang, and Ying’shang in Shangshu. It was one of the important transport stations in the southern Zhejiang guerrilla base area, making significant contributions to the communication work of the Party in southern Zhejiang, delivering mail, and transporting daily necessities and military supplies.

In 1928, the Xikeng Village Party Branch was established, and the Xikeng Transport Station was set up in the same year, with Xu Changtao as the person in charge. In 1929, when the underground Party organization in Wenzhou sent Li Zhensheng and Zhang Xuedong to Xikeng to develop an armed organization, this transport station began undertaking various tasks assigned by the Party organization. However, it was later disrupted by the Kuomintang. In 1945, the Yongjia County Committee of the Chinese Communist Party re-established the Xikeng Transport Station, with Xu Chengcong as the person in charge. From February to July 1946, the transport station was responsible for communication between the County Committee and the urban area, as well as various exchanges, transmissions, and liaison tasks between the County Committee, the Southern Zhejiang Special Committee, and the Southern Zhejiang troops. Transport agents such as Xu Chengcong, Xu Chengtao, Xu Huanbo, Xu Yanxing, and Han ’Achai took turns regularly visiting the Chengsen Tai Postal Agency in Shuangxi (also known as the “Shuangxi” Transport Station) to receive and forward postal items sent by Party organizations and revolutionary comrades from Beijing, Shanghai, Hangzhou, and Wenzhou. They also transported student movement leaders and revolutionary youth intellectuals to the southern Zhejiang guerrilla revolutionary base area, along with purchasing and transferring military supplies. Especially during the Tiantangtou Defense Battle on February 24, 1949, and the Tengqiao Battle from May 14 to 15, 1949, the Xikeng Transport Station liaisons risked their lives to ensure communication, provide logistical support, and offer safety protection, making significant contributions to the victories of these battles.

The Xikeng Transport Station is located in Xikeng Village, Shuangchao Township, Lucheng District, Wenzhou City. The main former site, the former residence of Xu Changtao, has been destroyed, leaving only the former residences of Xu Chengcong and Xu Chengtao.
