The Wenzhou Science and Technology Museum is a science education base.

The Wenzhou Science and Technology Museum is one of the public science education bases in Wenzhou. The entire exhibition hall is divided into two major sections—north and south—with over 231 exhibits and displays, making it a landmark science education base with distinctive Wenzhou characteristics.

At the Wenzhou Science and Technology Museum, the north exhibition hall is mainly designed for children and teenagers, featuring a highly entertaining children's science zone. The south exhibition hall has three floors, with its display themes arranged under the “3F” concept: FIELD – FRONTIER – FUTURE (Science Land, Science Frontier, Science Future). In addition, there is a dynamic 4D cinema as a special effects theater.

Drawing on successful experiences from science museums across the country, the Wenzhou Science and Technology Museum not only promotes fundamental scientific theories in its exhibits but also fully reflects China’s advanced science and technology and its developmental trends. It embodies the integration of science and technology with the humanities and social sciences, making it a landmark science education base with distinct Wenzhou characteristics. It encompasses the profound heritage of Ou Yue science and technology culture, carries forward the pioneering entrepreneurial spirit of the people of Wenzhou, and shines as a bright pearl of the region. It shoulders the noble mission of promoting the scientific spirit, popularizing scientific knowledge, and disseminating scientific thinking and methods. It is an important initiative for the people of Wenzhou in implementing the national strategy of “rejuvenating the nation through science and education,” and stands as a vibrant temple of science.

Visitor Guidelines

1. Opening Hours: Wednesday to Sunday, 9:00–16:30 (Last entry 10 minutes before closing; closed on Mondays and Tuesdays. National holidays have separate arrangements)

2. Free Admission with Ticket: The museum offers free entry but requires visitors to obtain a free admission ticket. One ticket per person, valid for the day. Ticket issuance time: Wednesday to Sunday, 8:55–16:00

3. Please visit civilly and take care of the exhibits. When visiting, operate the exhibits according to the instructions. Do not touch or strike exhibits that require staff operation or demonstration.

4. Observe public order. Please do not make loud noises or run around in the exhibition hall. Climbing is strictly prohibited. Use stairs courteously, avoid crowding or running to prevent accidents.

5. Keep the venue clean. Smoking is strictly prohibited inside the museum. Do not eat snacks in the exhibition hall or cinema. Do not spit or litter.

6. Open flames are strictly prohibited inside the museum. Flammable, explosive, and other prohibited items are not allowed. Pets are not permitted.

7. 4D Cinema and Special Exhibits: Please pay attention to showtimes, schedules, and related instructions.

8. To ensure visitor safety, when the number of visitors reaches the museum’s capacity limit, crowd control measures will be implemented. We ask for your understanding and cooperation.

9. Group visits require advance reservation (excluding weekends and holidays). Reserved groups will be given priority for entry.

Transportation

The Wenzhou Science and Technology Museum is located on the southeast side of Century Square, Shifu Road, Wenzhou. It faces the Wenzhou Museum to the west and the Wenzhou Municipal Government Building to the north.

Bus Routes: Take bus No. 8 or 123 to the Science Museum stop; or take B110 (formerly No. 38), No. 64, No. 68, B102 (formerly No. 81), No. 99, or No. 151 to Century Square stop. After getting off, walk about 498 meters east.
