The Chen Residence on Feipeng Lane is a Zhejiang Provincial Cultural Relics Protection Unit.

The Chen Quandong Residence is located at No. 98 Feipeng Lane, Lucheng District, Wenzhou City. Facing south, it consists of a main building, a rear building, and surrounding walls, forming a courtyard-style residence. It is said to be the residence of Chen Quandong. After the liberation, it served as a dormitory for municipal government officials. The entire compound covers an area of approximately 1,000 square meters. The gate tower is situated at the southeast corner of the courtyard and is a Western-style brick gate tower. The main building is a two-story structure with three bays. The first floor is about 1 meter above ground level (the ground floor is raised for moisture-proofing and ventilation), connected by a concrete walkway. Both the first and second floors have corridors with concrete railings. The building’s façade is not on the same plane but features an orderly arrangement of protrusions and recesses. Doors and windows all open outward and are equipped with adjustable louvered door and window frames. The interior floors are all wooden, and there is a basement beneath the first floor. The central bay is divided into front and rear sections by a screen door, with the front serving as the main hall and the rear as a staircase corridor. The screen door features exquisite wood carvings. The rear building is a four-bay, two-story brick structure. Its middle southern section connects to the main building and has a front corridor with low brick railings. The second floor is accessed via a spiral staircase located along the western wall of the first floor. The corridor is situated along the northern wall. The rear building has a four-ridged roof covered with blue tiles. There is a well in the northwest corner of the courtyard with good-quality water.

Chen Quandong (1882–1966), courtesy name Shouyong, was born in 1882 in Wenzhou, Zhejiang Province. He held a salt administration official title in the Republican government. In 1907, he graduated from St. John’s University in Shanghai. From 1907 to 1908, he served as the secretary to the special commissioner of the Ministry of Education in Hebei Province. In 1909, he returned to Wenzhou and worked as a teacher and later as the head instructor and English professor at Wenzhou Prefectural Middle School Normal School and Zhejiang Tenth Normal School (now Wenzhou High School) until 1913. After 1929, he held various positions multiple times, including regional inspector and surveillance commander.

The Chen Quandong Residence is a well-preserved building in downtown Wenzhou, featuring a typical modern architectural style.
