Yue Residence on Guangchang Road

The Yue Residence on Guangchang Road is a Wenzhou Municipal Cultural Relics Protection Unit.

The Yue Family Residence is located at No. 12, Junzhuangju, Guangchang Road, Lucheng District, Wenzhou City, and was built during the Republic of China period. The residence faces south and covers an area of approximately 640 square meters. It consists of a courtyard-style brick-and-wood hybrid structure, including a gatehouse and main house, with five bays and two stories. The total width is 29.8 meters and the depth is 30.7 meters. The courtyard is surrounded by continuous arched verandas, with exterior walls and partitions constructed from blue bricks. The veranda pillars feature exquisite brick carvings, and the second floor is adorned with bottle-shaped wooden railings. The interior has fine wooden strip ceilings, while the exterior walls rise above the roofline to form perforated parapets. The former site of the Yue Family Residence was originally the Qing Dynasty military uniform bureau. Later, Yue Yandi, a native of Ningbo, purchased the land and built this structure here. The architectural style combines both Chinese and Western elements, making it a typical example of modern residential architecture in the city. In August 2005, the Wenzhou Municipal People's Government designated the Yue Family Residence as part of the fifth batch of municipal-level cultural relics protection units in Wenzhou.
