Former Site of Yikang Money Shop

The former site of Yikang Money Shop is a Zhejiang Provincial Cultural Relics Protection Unit.

The former site of Yikang Money Shop is located at No. 22, Siyingtang Lane, Lucheng District, and was built in the late Qing Dynasty. Facing south, it features a courtyard-style structure made of a combination of brick and wood, consisting of an entrance hall, main hall, and wing rooms. It has five bays across three floors, with a total width of 18 meters and a depth of 29.6 meters. The courtyard is surrounded by corridors, and the building’s façade exhibits Western Baroque decorative elements. The money shop was established by Mr. and Mrs. Ge Mingzhai in the 1920s. In the early years after the liberation, it served as the office of the Beiqu District Government of Wenzhou City.

In August 2005, the Wenzhou Municipal People's Government designated the former site of Yikang Money Shop as part of the fifth batch of municipal-level cultural relics protection units in Wenzhou.

Protected Area: Bounded by the exterior walls of the building on the east, west, and north; on the south, the boundary extends approximately 7 meters outward from the building’s exterior wall to the edge of the road on the north side of Siyingtang Lane.

Building Control Zone: On the east, extends approximately 27 meters outward from the protected area to the lane; on the south, extends 16 meters outward from the protected area; on the west, extends approximately 8–10 meters outward from the protected area; on the north, extends 5–9 meters outward from the protected area.
