Bao Da Trading Company

Bao Da Trading Company is a cultural relic protection unit of Wenzhou City.

The former site of Bao Da Trading Company is located at No. 37, Yanguangdian Lane, Lucheng District, Wenzhou City, and was built during the Republic of China era. The trading company faces south and covers an area of approximately 200 square meters. It is a three-bay, two-story Western-style building, with a total width of 15.3 meters and a depth of 17.3 meters. A boundary stone inscribed with "Yongyutang" is located at the eastern corner of the wall. The building’s façade features exquisite decorations, including a triangular pediment, Baroque-style door surrounds, and the trading company’s emblem from that time.

The former site of Bao Da Trading Company was purchased and built by Wang Chunhou, former chairman of the local Federation of Industry and Commerce, from another party for ten thousand silver dollars, and was used for cotton cloth trading. The overall structural layout is relatively intact, and its Western-style brick and stucco façade is quite distinctive. The emblem on the main façade is uniquely designed. Wang Chunhou (1887–1952), from Yueqing, Wenzhou, founded the Bao Da Cotton Cloth Store and also served as a director of Fuhua Dyeing and Weaving Co., Ltd. After the founding of the People’s Republic of China, he became the chairman of the Wenzhou Federation of Industry and Commerce. In August 2005, it was designated as part of the fifth batch of cultural relic protection units of Wenzhou City by the Wenzhou Municipal People’s Government.

Protected Area: To the east and north, the boundary is 2 meters outside the existing perimeter wall; to the south, 1 meter outside the existing perimeter wall; to the west, the existing perimeter wall serves as the boundary.

Building Control Zone: To the east, the boundary is 20 meters outside the existing perimeter wall; to the south, 30 meters; to the west, 28 meters; to the north, 20 meters.
