Lotus Dike Yang Residence

The Lotus Dike Yang Residence is a Wenzhou Municipal Cultural Relics Protection Unit.

The Yang Family Residence is located in Pushi Community, Lotus Dike, Wenzhou City. It faces east and is backed by west, forming a traditional three-sided courtyard structure enclosed by the main building, wing rooms, and surrounding walls. The main building has seven bays and two stories, featuring a brick facade and a flush gable roof. The front elevation is constructed with plain bricks and incorporates many Western architectural elements. Each window is framed by a brick arch supported by Corinthian columns, with a unified wide eaves adorned with corbelled brick moldings. The parapet wall at the top features additional gray-plastered flower baskets. The central bay has six pillars with a front porch, where the porch is designed as a covered corridor. On the second floor, the central bay has six pillars and eleven rafters, with a double-step beam both front and back, along with a front porch. The front porch is equipped with railings and ornamental columns, topped with a rolled shed roof. The wing rooms consist of three bays and two stories, built with a combination of brick and wood. They feature a waist eave and flush gable roof facing the inner courtyard. The central bay on the second floor has five pillars and eight rafters, with a double-step beam both front and back, as well as a front single-step beam, all accompanied by a front porch. The front porch includes a balustrade with carved seats, topped with a rolled shed roof. The junction between the roofs of the main building and the wing rooms is fitted with Guanyin-dou-style firewalls. The courtyard has perforated decorative windows on the enclosing walls to the south and west. Three fire prevention pools are located near the southern wall and adjacent to the house. The wing room facade features long windows adorned with shallow carvings of antique patterns and meander motifs. In August 2005, it was designated by the Wenzhou Municipal People's Government as part of the fifth batch of municipal-level cultural relics protection units, officially listed under the name Ye Family Residence.
