Introduction: Located at the border between Xixi Township and Zhouling Township, Sanchiao Bridge was first built during the Song Dynasty. It features an outward-arching "eight-character" arm structure and is the oldest surviving wooden arch covered bridge in Taishun, possibly even the earliest-built "covered bridge" in the world. The Sanchiao Bridge we see today was reconstructed in the 23rd year of the Daoguang reign during the Qing Dynasty (1843 AD). During the demolition of the old bridge, roof tiles bearing the reign mark of the Zhenguan era were discovered, leading some to speculate that Sanchiao Bridge might have been originally built as early as the Tang Dynasty. Calculating from the last year of Emperor Taizong’s reign in the 23rd year of Zhenguan, that would make it 1,352 years old. If true, the history of "covered bridge" architecture would need to be rewritten. Transportation: Take a bus from Taishun County to Zhouling Township (Taishun to Zhouling has 4 buses daily from 8:00–14:30; returning from Zhouling to Taishun has 4 buses daily from 6:00–12:00; fare is 13 RMB, about 2 hours’ drive), then transfer to a local minibus (20 minutes) or a tricycle (40 minutes). From the drop-off point to Sanchiao Bridge, you still need to hike over a mountain ridge for about 20 minutes.

Xixi Township: A township under the jurisdiction of Taishun County. It is one of the county's forestry bases. At the time of the founding of the People’s Republic of China, it belonged to Zhoubin Township. In 1952, it was divided to form Yangxi, Luyang, and Kengshi townships. In 1956, Yangxi and Kengshi townships merged with part of Luyang Township to become Yangxi Township. In 1958, it was called a management area; in 1962, it became a commune; in 1983, it was renamed Xixi Commune; and in 1984, it became Xixi Township. Located in the southwestern part of the county, it borders Fu’an City in Fujian Province to the west, and is 19 kilometers from Luoyang.
