Xue's Residence Bridge

Xue's Residence Bridge is a cultural tourism attraction.

Also known as Jinxī Bridge, Xue's Residence Bridge is located in Xuewai Village, Sankui Town. It was listed as one of the third batch of cultural heritage protection units of Taishun County in 1988. This bridge features a long span and steep incline, with a slope of over 30 degrees at the entrance — making it the wooden arched covered bridge with the steepest deck in Taishun County. Its simple yet majestic design and towering presence have earned it a place in the "Illustrated History of Chinese Bridges" and it holds an important position in the world history of bridges.

Originally built during the Ming Dynasty, the current structure of Xue's Residence Bridge was constructed in the sixth year of the Xianfeng reign of the Qing Dynasty (1856) and underwent renovation in 1986. It is a gray-toned, stacked-beam arched wooden covered bridge, measuring 51 meters in length, 5.2 meters in width, and standing 10.5 meters above the water. It has a single span of 29 meters and 14 bridge rooms. Both Xue's Residence Bridge and Liu's Residence Bridge are grand in scale; compared to the latter’s ornate elegance, Xue's stands out with its towering, magnificent presence. The striking red bridge body rises high above the Jinxī Stream, while its gray upturned eaves point directly toward the blue sky. Amidst the surrounding white, boxy modern buildings, it stands out prominently, catching the eye effortlessly.
