The Jiufeng Revolutionary History Monument is a classic site for red tourism.

Jiufeng Township is an important part of the old revolutionary base area in Taishun. On November 7, 1935, the Red Army Advance Division and the CPC Mindong Special Committee held a joint meeting in Baike Bay, establishing the Provisional CPC Fujian-Zhejiang Border Provincial Committee with Liu Ying as secretary. Thereafter, the Party organizations in Zhejiang and eastern Fujian developed rapidly, with several CPC branches successively set up in Jiufeng Township, including the Tai-Ping District Committee and those in Qianpingzi, Shanhou, Chishuixi, Bangang, Jiufeng, Wantou, and Shimen. In August 1936, the Southern Zhejiang People’s Revolutionary Committee and the Rui-Ping-Tai Central County People’s Revolutionary Committee established red political power in villages such as Baike Bay, Shanhou, and Qianpingzi, carrying out struggles to redistribute young crops and land. After the outbreak of the Anti-Japanese War, the Party organizations in Jiufeng Township actively joined the anti-Japanese salvation movement. In 1940, in the face of military “encirclement and suppression” by the Kuomintang die-hards, the CPC Fujian-Zhejiang Border District Committee and the Taishun County Committee shifted to concealed and streamlined struggle, preserving core forces in villages such as Shanhou. In November 1947, the Taishun County Committee established the CPC Fujian-Zhejiang Border Central County Committee in Qianpingzi, rapidly expanding the Fujian-Zhejiang border guerrilla base centered on Taishun. Farmer associations, women’s federations, and militia organizations were widely formed in Jiufeng. On May 3, 1949, on the eve of the full liberation of Taishun, the CPC Taishun Central County Committee held an expanded meeting in Jiuilitan and Xidi, making comprehensive preparations for establishing the people’s political power of Taishun County. Over 14 years of arduous struggle, the people of Jiufeng, undaunted by hardship and sacrifice, made significant contributions to the victory of the new democratic revolution.

The Jiufeng Revolutionary History Monument is located in Yuxi Village, Jiufeng Township, Taishun County, and was completed in November 1995. The monument covers an area of 400 square meters, with a base of 6 square meters and a height of 9 meters. The front of the monument bears its name, while the back features an inscription.

The Jiufeng Revolutionary History Monument is one of the activity sites for patriotic education among young people in Taishun County.
