Wenxiang Pagoda

Wenxiang Pagoda is a cultural relic protection unit of Taishun County.

Wenxiang Pagoda is located outside the southern gate of Luoyang Town, Taishun County. It was first built during the Longqing era of the Ming Dynasty (1567–1572), collapsed in the 17th year of the Jiaqing reign of the Qing Dynasty (1812), and was rebuilt in the 23rd year of the Daoguang reign (1843) with funding from local benefactor Pan Pu. The pagoda stands 19.7 meters tall, is constructed of brick and wood, and features a six-sided, seven-story hollow pavilion-style structure with a spiral staircase inside, and its eaves are built layer by layer using the corbeling method. The wing corners and decorative animal ornaments vary on each level, including designs such as a big turtle holding a pearl, good fortune symbols, and magpie-tail scroll grass patterns. The outer walls are painted with motifs of pine, bamboo, plum, and orchid.
