Purple Star Valley

Purple Star Valley is a national AAA-level tourist attraction.

Purple Star Valley consists of three administrative villages—Ziwei, Huangniling, and Chaping—covering a total construction area of approximately 60 square kilometers. It is one of the main scenic areas of Ziwei Mountain National Forest Park and is located 25 kilometers from downtown Quzhou. It is a national AAA-level tourist attraction.

The scenic area encircles Yaowang Mountain Scenic Area and lies adjacent to Wuxi River National Water Conservancy Scenic Area, a national wetland park, and Tianji Longmen Scenic Area. It is strung together by a 21-kilometer-long valley, featuring four Grade IV tourism resources such as the Dayuanwei ancient forest, nine Grade III resources including the Tianzibei Waterfall, and more than 27 Grade II or higher resources. There are also seven peaks with altitudes exceeding 1,000 meters. The area boasts rich and high-quality tourism resources such as Guan Gong Mountain, Yaowang Mountain, ancient tree clusters, traditional dwellings, Ma Wei Waterfall, and the Immortal's Abode. These include diverse natural features like mountains, streams, rivers, waterfalls, lakes, springs, caves, and rocks—all abundant and expansive. The natural scenery here is fresh and pleasant, with lush vegetation, beautiful landscapes, and a pleasant environment. The climate is mild and comfortable, and it is home to a large number of rare species, including 300-year-old red bean trees, white bean trees, and maple trees, as well as 500-year-old podocarpus, camphor trees, and sweet gum trees—many of which are ancient and notable trees. The forest coverage rate reaches as high as 98%. The valley features deep forests, clear waters, cool and refreshing air, and a mild and humid climate, with an average temperature of 15.8 degrees Celsius. Rare animals found here include leopards, serows, tufted deer, and pangolins, along with a variety of bird species. The winding and undulating terrain has a highest elevation of 1,388.7 meters, making it a naturally gifted oxygen bar.
