Dabao'en Temple Stele

Jiangsu Provincial-Level Cultural Relics Protection Unit, Batch 1 & 2, Adjusted and Announced March 1982. The Dabao'en Temple Stele was erected in the 22nd year of the Yongle reign during the Ming Dynasty (1424), located outside Zhonghua Gate in Nanjing.

Dabao'en Temple Ruins Park is located outside Zhonghua Gate in Nanjing, bordered by the Outer Qinhuai River to the north, Yuhuatai to the south, the 1865 Innovation Park to the east, and Yuhua Road to the west. The entire park covers an area of approximately 200 acres. The Dabao'en Temple ruins have been hailed by experts from the National Cultural Heritage Administration as "the highest-standard, largest-scale, and best-preserved ancient temple ruins in China." Today, visitors to the park can explore the perfume river, the perfume river bridge, the Yongle Stele, the Xuande Stele, the imperial pathway, Ming Dynasty hydraulic facilities, the remains of the three main halls, the corridor ruins, the oil depot ruins, the charity well, and the official kilns where glazed architectural components were fired—giving a clear picture of the “palatial grandeur” of the Dabao'en Temple from 600 years ago.
