Cycling Section
Purple Mountain Greenway

Transportation: Take Nanjing Metro Line2and get off at Xiamafang Station.
There are several cycling lanes on Purple Mountain in Nanjing, with varying levels of difficulty. The Purple Mountain Greenway loop is relatively flat and offers stunning scenery. For those looking for a more challenging ride, you can start from Fan Hongxian’s Tomb and head to Toutuo Ridge Scenic Area—a5-kilometer route that's a typical mountain biking trail.
Laoshan National Forest Park

Transportation: Take Bus608or/401to Laoshan National Forest Park Station.
Laoshan National Forest Park is located in Pukou District. The forest area features beautiful scenery and abundant wildlife.2014The mountain bike course for the Youth Olympic Games was set here. For those wanting a more wild and rugged route, you can start from Yingzuishan, pass by Dousi Temple, and finally arrive at Laoshan.
Yuzui Wetland Park
Admission: Free
Transportation: Take Metro Line2and get off at Yuntong Station.
Yuzui Park is near the Nanjing International Expo Center. You can cycle from Yuzui Wetland Park to the International Youth Cultural Park, Green Expo Park, and Wanjing Park—a total distance of about11kilometers.
Niushou Mountain

Transportation:155Take the bus to Niushou Forest Farm Station and get off.
Niushou Mountain is located in Yuhuatai District, and the renovated Niushou Mountain boasts even more stunning scenery. Cycling here in October offers even more pleasant views along the way. The bike lanes on Niushou Mountain are not steep, and you can start from Zhonghua Gate Castle and cycle all the way to Focheng West Road.
Shitang Bamboo Sea
Admission: Free
Transportation: Take bus Hengshi Line and get off at Qianshitang Station.
Shitang is a picturesque village located in Jiangning, on the outskirts of Nanjing. Riders can start from Shitang Renjia at the foot of the mountain, pass through the Strange Slope, and eventually reach the Bamboo Sea. A friendly reminder from the editor: this cycling route is quite challenging, so be well prepared.

Sun Yat-sen Mausoleum

The Sun Yat-sen Mausoleum is located in the Zhongshan Scenic Area in the eastern suburbs of Nanjing. Viewed from above, it resembles a “Liberty Bell” lying on a green velvet carpet. As you climb the steps step by step to the top, the vast plains stretch out before your eyes.
Zhonghua Gate Castle

Nanjing’s Zhonghua Gate is the best-preserved and most structurally complex ancient castle today. The ancient walls bear the marks of time’s erosion. You can climb the ancient fortress, measure this weighty history by foot, and feel the rustic texture of the city.
Presidential Palace

The Presidential Palace exudes an air of the Republican era and is itself the most iconic representation of the Republican government. Together with the surrounding Republican-era architecture, the entire scenic area is like an open-air museum of Republican history. Xuanwu Lake

Originally known as Sangbo or Houhu, Xuanwu Lake is located at the foot of Zhongshan Mountain. It is the largest imperial garden lake in China and the biggest urban park in the Jiangnan region, often hailed as the "Pearl of Jinling." Strolling along the lakeside allows you to slowly appreciate the scenic views.
Laomendong
Transportation: Metro3Get off at Wudingmen Station on Line 64.
Passing through the Laomendong archway, you step into the traditional life of the old southern city residents. The streets and alleys, full of local flavor, offer an up-close experience of daily life in old Nanjing.
Deji Plaza
Transportation: Metro1Line 1 or2Line 2 to Xinjiekou Station.
Deji is located in the Xinjiekou commercial district. The mall houses numerous brands, so you can fulfill all your dining, entertainment, and shopping needs in one place. Deji Plaza also frequently hosts art events such as painting, music, and sculpture exhibitions—definitely worth a visit.

Confucius Temple and Qinhuai River

With its white walls and black tiles, this place is imbued with the imprints of time. It is the birthplace of Nanjing culture and the area most representative of old Nanjing’s charm. When night falls, board a “painted pleasure boat” and cruise along the Qinhuai River. While sampling traditional snacks from the Confucius Temple, admire the surrounding Confucius Temple archways, Jiangnan Imperial Examination Hall, and the Former Residence of Li Xiangjun... The ancient capital of the Six Dynasties, the land of elegance, and the city of tenderness—all can be traced here.
Linggu Temple

Located at the southeastern foot of Zijin Mountain, Linggu Temple offers even more serene scenery at night. When night falls, various landscape lights illuminate the area, adding a unique charm to the night visit.
Ming Xiaoling Mausoleum

Situated within the Zhongshan Scenic Area, the Ming Xiaoling Mausoleum is the tomb of Emperor Zhu Yuanzhang, the founding emperor of the Ming Dynasty, and Empress Ma. The mausoleum is surrounded by lush trees that frame its architecture. Visiting at night offers a different kind of experience, as the evening ambiance seems to better highlight the unique character of the site.
Xihe Plaza

Xihé Plaza is a newly developed leisure district featuring many charming shops. Slow Life Café, Bottle Bar, and Creation... These are all highly distinctive casual dining spots, perfect for a relaxing time.
