Qingfeng Park
Qingfeng Park is a national AAA-level tourist attraction.
The northern modern waterfront landscape area and the southern green ecological cultural area’s East Garden feature eight scenic spots: Jingji Qinhuai, Datong Fan Yong, Hui Shui Chun Yi, Wen Huai Yi Gu, Xin Cheng Qi Wang, Qingfeng Gu Zha, Die Shui Hua Xi, and Yin Feng You Gu.
The park is positioned as a premium waterfront park that inherits historical context, highlights green ecology, reflects modern urban landscapes, and meets public leisure needs. It serves as an urban open space where tradition and modernity, people and nature blend harmoniously. It not only authentically preserves and continues historical and cultural information but also integrates the surrounding modern ambiance and lifestyle, expressing a sustainable design philosophy. Qingfeng Park derives its name from the Qingfeng Sluice, also known as the Second Sluice of the Tonghui River. The Tonghui River was opened to navigation in 1292 and served as a vital channel for grain transport to the capital. As a transport hub, Qingfeng Sluice once bustled with “thousands of grain boats, masts standing like forests, and crowds of visitors.” Due to its clear waters and picturesque scenery, it became a popular scenic destination for locals since the Ming and Qing dynasties, earning the nickname “Qinhuai of the North.” Existing historical relics include the ancient sluice site, ancient locust trees, and the folk culture of Er Zha Village. In the spring of 2009, the Chaoyang District government carried out environmental improvements in the area as part of the urban village redevelopment project, and the park was completed in September of the same year. Located on the western side of the Tonghui River and south of the CBD, it is the first section developed as part of the “Tonghui River Waterfront Cultural Landscape Belt.” It stretches from Lingtongguan Bridge in the west to Qingfeng Bridge in the east, from Jingtong Road in the north to the railway line in the south. The width ranges between about 70 and 250 meters, with a total length of 2,300 meters and a designed area of approximately 26.7 hectares. The park is divided into eastern and western sections by the Third Ring Road.
