The Chaoyang Park Beach Volleyball Court is located in the northeast corner of Chaoyang Park. It can be accessed from multiple entrances of the park, with Entrance No. 4 on the east side and the main east gate being the closest. Tranquil lake water, golden sand, brilliant sunshine, and passionate matches—this will be the true depiction of beach volleyball in 2008. It is precisely this poetic and picturesque scene that has made beach volleyball one of the most spectator-friendly events in the Olympics. However, this visually delightful event also has stringent requirements for its environment. Today, a competition venue that fully meets international standards is rising from the grounds of a former industrial site in the capital—on the original site of the Beijing Gas Appliance Factory within Chaoyang Park.
