Confucius Temple Boat Dock

The Confucius Temple Boat Dock is a cultural tourism attraction.

The Qinhuai River, a right-bank tributary of the lower Yangtze River in China. Historically known as Longcangpu, it was called the Huai River from the Han Dynasty onward and renamed the Qinhuai River after the Tang Dynasty. The Qinhuai River has two sources: the northern source, the Gulong River, originates from the southern foothills of Baohua Mountain in Jurong City, while the southern source, the Lishui River, originates from Donglushan in Lishui District, Nanjing. The two rivers converge in Xibei Village, Fangshandai, Jiangning District, Nanjing, to form the main course of the Qinhuai River. It then flows around Fangshan northwestward to the outer city gate Shangfangmen, entering Nanjing City through the East Water Gate. It runs east to west across the urban area, exits from the West Water Gate in the south, and flows into the Yangtze River.

Most of the Qinhuai River lies within Nanjing’s jurisdiction and is the city’s largest regional river. Historically, its roles in shipping and irrigation nurtured Nanjing’s ancient civilization, earning it the title “Mother River of Nanjing.” It was also historically renowned as “China’s No. 1 Historic and Cultural River.”
