The Qing Dynasty Residence on Zhu Zhuangyuan Lane is a cultural relic protection unit of Nanjing.

At the intersection of Mochou Road and Zhu Zhuangyuan Lane in Qinhuai District stands a quiet, three-courtyard old house — the Qing Dynasty Residence on Zhu Zhuangyuan Lane. The name of this small lane, which connects Mochou Road and Cang Lane, originates from Zhu Zhuangyuan of the Ming Dynasty.

Zhu Zhuangyuan’s full name was Zhu Zhifan; he was originally from Shandong, became the top imperial scholar in the 23rd year of the Wanli era during the Ming Dynasty, and was known for his clean and honest service in office throughout his life. After retiring from office, he returned to Nanjing and lived in the area now known as Zhu Zhuangyuan Lane. The surviving three-courtyard house was rebuilt during the Qing Dynasty and has a history of over 200 years.

In the 1990s, the Qing Dynasty Residence on Zhu Zhuangyuan Lane was designated as a municipal-level cultural heritage site in Nanjing.
