The landscapes around SuCheng are truly unique within the YunTai Mountain range, dotted with numerous scenic spots and historical relics. Coupled with several gullies where streams babble and waterfalls hang suspended in mid-air, it leaves an unforgettable impression on visitors.

BaJia Mountain is located southeast of the reservoir. Legend has it that during the Tang Dynasty, Emperor Taizong was once besieged here but was saved in time by his ministers, thus narrowly avoiding disaster. For this reason, the mountain was named “BaoJia” (meaning “Protection”). The mountain features rugged rocks and a quaint charm. The trailhead is called “One-Line Sky,” a narrow path naturally cleaved through the mountain. The severely twisted rock patterns along the path’s edge reveal how, at the dawn of time, nature tossed and turned the mountain stones as if kneading dough. Up close, the One-Line Sky reveals a solitary peak standing sharply to the left, like a uniquely formed natural sculpture; from a distance, BaJia Mountain, set against the backdrop of the reservoir, resembles a delicate waterside rock garden—exquisitely fresh and graceful. At the summit of BaJia Mountain stands the “Four-View Pavilion,” from which one can enjoy panoramic views of the SuCheng scenery.
