Mirror Stone

The Mirror Stone is located to the southeast of Yanfu Temple, approximately two meters wide and over three meters tall. Its surface is as smooth as a mirror, featuring a layer of natural mica veins. When the morning glow reflects off the stone, it shimmers brilliantly with radiant light. The characters "Sea Fairy Mountain" are engraved on the stone. At the end of the classic Chinese novel *Flowers in the Mirror*, there is a couplet: “The mirror’s light reveals true talent, the blossoms’ patterns entirely overturn old tales.” It is said that when Li Ruzhen wrote this book, he was inspired by the inscription “Little Penglai” on a rock and this Mirror Stone. He depicted the boundary between heaven and earth as Little Penglai, and wove the themes of mirror flowers and moon water throughout the novel, which also became its title.
