Flower and Fruit Mountain's One-Line Sky

The One-Line Sky is located in Flower and Fruit Mountain and shares a similar marvel with the Seventy-Two Caves. It is a scenic area formed by numerous massive rocks and caves connected together, which the ancients called “a thread of sky through the stone” and “the cave heaven of stone walls.”

The main feature of the One-Line Sky is two tens-of-meters-high rocks leaning against each other, forming a narrow passage in between. As you walk through, you can see a sliver of blue sky overhead with white clouds swiftly drifting by—an experience both thrilling and awe-inspiring. Winding through the One-Line Sky, the path loops around, interconnecting everywhere, going up and down, appearing and disappearing. You hear voices but see no one; in the height of summer, it feels like autumn, with all heat dispelled.

Looking at the One-Line Sky from afar on the mountainside, you’ll spot the famous Pigsy Rock, which strikingly resembles an old pig wearing a monk’s hat, fast asleep amid the green foliage.

Below the One-Line Sky lies the cliffside stone inscription of the Flower and Fruit Mountain name, where many visitors love to take photos—the green mountain with red characters creates a magnificent sight. There are also natural steles and inkstone rocks among the scenery here.

Walking along the path leads you to Ink Fragrance Trail, where over a hundred works by contemporary calligraphy masters are engraved on natural rock formations; you can also visit the Strange Rocks Garden to see the various grotesque rock formations related to Journey to the West. The “God” Character King is located beneath the Bald Dragon Gully in the eastern part—it is a massive cursive script “God” character carved into the mountainside, measuring 39.4 meters in length and 15.8 meters in width, and is the world’s largest single-character Chinese calligraphy. It was recorded in the Guinness World Records in 1996.
