The Bridge of Qin

Qingshan Island is located on the eastern seashore of Ganyu County. Legend has it that Emperor Qin Shi Huang once climbed the mountain here to worship the sea, which moved the sea god. The dragon maiden was sent to offer him a precious pearl, and the remains of the Pearl-Offering Terrace can still be seen today.

Every year around spring and summer, when sea mist shrouds the area, mirages—spectacular natural phenomena—are often visible from both the foot of the mountain and atop the island. Coupled with the local myths and legends passed down through generations, these wonders add to the island’s mystical beauty, making it a truly enchanting destination.

At the foot of the western side of Qingshan Island lies a path made of cobblestones that stretches all the way to the mainland, about 10 kilometers in length. It is said to have been built by Emperor Qin Shi Huang, hence its name—the Bridge of Qin or the Divine Road of Qingshan. For over a thousand years, this path has endured wind and waves without vanishing. Today, visitors can walk along this ancient road to enjoy the scenic views of Qingshan Island.
