The Front Gate of the Ancient Guan Di Temple at Nantianmen is a cultural relic protection unit of Lianyungang City.

The Front Gate of the Ancient Guan Di Temple at Nantianmen is located on the north side of Nantianmen at Huaguo Mountain in Huaguo Mountain Township, Xinpukou District. It now serves as Nantianmen Primary School. The front gate has a total height of about 3.5 meters and a width of 1.3 meters. According to local records and inscriptions, the ancient Guan Di Temple was built during the Wanli period of the Ming Dynasty as an auxiliary structure to the Ming Sanyuan Palace. Professor Pan Guxi from Southeast University in Nanjing identified that the front gate still retains the architectural style of the late Ming Dynasty. Among the ancient temple buildings in our city, the Front Gate of the Ancient Guan Di Temple at Nantianmen is the earliest surviving structure after the major earthquake of the seventh year of the Kangxi reign. It provides physical material for the study of ancient architectural techniques and holds significant scientific value for research on seismic resistance and earthquake prevention. It was designated as one of the first batch of cultural relic protection units in Lianyungang City in 1982.
