Located about 500 meters north of Taohua Village in Jinping Town, Haizhou District, Lianyungang City. The Jinping Phosphate Mine is the earliest discovered and longest-operating phosphate mine in China. It is hailed as the “pioneer of Jiangsu Province’s chemical industry” and the “cradle of national chemical mining.” Its history dates back to as early as 1919, when its predecessor, Jinping Company, discovered phosphorite with mining potential. In 1920, the Jinping Mining Co., Ltd. was officially established, marking the beginning of China’s then-only phosphorite mining operations. During the War of Resistance against Japan, Japanese invaders carried out brutal and exploitative mining at the Jinping Phosphate Mine. After the founding of the People’s Republic of China, the Jinping Phosphate Mine became the country’s first large-scale phosphate mine, training and supplying a significant number of mining professionals across the nation. The main mining area of the Jinping Phosphate Mine is divided into the West Mountain and East Mountain sections, with a mining design that includes a central main shaft and auxiliary shafts on the east and west sides. Key structures include the factory headquarters building, production facilities, and non-production facilities. Production facilities mainly consist of the mining site, beneficiation plant (including crushing workshop, grinding and flotation workshop, concentrate dewatering workshop), machine repair shop, water supply, power supply, air supply, transportation infrastructure, tailings facilities, and Factory 0. Non-production facilities include housing, cultural, health, sports, educational, and research public utility buildings—mainly staff dormitories, nurseries, staff and workers' children's middle school, cafeteria, guesthouse, bathhouse, barbershop, hospital, cultural palace, and research laboratories. Currently, the main area of the phosphate mine covers approximately 4,500 square meters, with a width of 80 meters and a depth of 50 meters. There are three rows of factory buildings.

In 2010, it was designated as part of the fourth batch of cultural heritage sites protected by Lianyungang City.

A 20-meter buffer zone on the east, north, and west sides of the building exterior walls, and extending to the northern edge of the adjacent highway to the south.

Construction Control Zone:

A 50-meter buffer zone on the east, north, and west sides of the building exterior walls, and extending to the northern edge of the adjacent highway to the south.

Jinping Town: Jinping Town is a suburban town near Lianyungang City, boasting a long history and abundant resources. It is situated at latitude 37°6′ north and longitude 119°09′ east, within a warm temperate monsoon climate zone. The area enjoys distinct seasons, ample sunshine, an average annual temperature of 14°C, wind speeds of 3.5–4.2 on the Beaufort scale, annual rainfall of 900 mm, and a frost-free period of about 200 days, with a sunshine rate of over 50%.

The total area of Jinping Town is 52.35 square kilometers, including 26.12 square kilometers of arable land.
