The Danglu Wang Family Ancestral Hall (Ming Dynasty): Located in Danglu Village, Huaguoshan Subdistrict, High-tech Zone, Lianyungang City, adjacent to the village committee office and facing south, the Wang Family Ancestral Hall was first built during the Wanli era of the Ming Dynasty. During this period, Wang Minghe, the 59th-generation ancestor of the Danglu Wangs and a first-rank military official who served as the Commander-in-Chief of the Liangguang region and General of the Cavalry, was honored by an imperial edict from Emperor Wanli, who bestowed upon him the title of “Foremost Military Talent Under Heaven,” and granted permission for his burial in his hometown and the establishment of an ancestral hall for worship. With the assistance of the Haizhou prefectural government, the Wang family built Wang Minghe’s tomb according to the protocols befitting a first-rank official, along with the ancestral hall for ancestral worship. In the late Ming and early Qing dynasties, the Danglu Wang Ancestral Hall was destroyed in the warfare involving Qing troops but was later rebuilt. It underwent a second restoration during the Republican era. At that time, the ancestral hall covered several acres with a construction area of approximately 1,500 square meters, featuring a traditional quadrangle layout: a main hall of three bays, side halls of three bays each on the east and west, and a mountain gate at the front. In 1994, after negotiations with the township government, the Wang family reclaimed the ancestral hall. Restoration efforts began in 1997, and by the Double Ninth Festival in 2009, the third reconstruction of the Danglu Wang Family Ancestral Hall was completed with the main hall finished. Later, the side halls, stele corridor, and mountain gate were also restored. Although the side halls were severely damaged, the restoration preserved as much as possible the Ming-era foundations, wall frames, and building materials. The mountain gate and courtyard were also reconstructed entirely in the style of ancient Ming architecture. In recent years, members of the Wang clan have collected over 200 cultural relics related to the ancestral hall, including horse saddles used by Wang Minghe’s army during the Pacification of Bo Campaign at Hailongtun in Guizhou, as well as stone tablets and carvings from the tombs of Wang Minghe and his family. The Danglu Wang Family Ancestral Hall holds significant cultural heritage and folklore research value.

The Danglu Wang Family Ancestral Hall (Ming Dynasty)

The Danglu Wang Family Ancestral Hall is located in Danglu Village, Huaguoshan Subdistrict, High-tech Zone, Lianyungang City, adjacent to the village committee office and facing south. The Wang Family Ancestral Hall was first built during the Ming Dynasty's Wanli era. During this period, Wang Minghe, the 59th-generation ancestor of the Danglu Wangs, served as the first-rank Commander-in-Chief of the Liangguang region and General of the Cavalry. Emperor Wanli issued an edict conferring upon him the title of “Foremost Military Talent Under Heaven” and granting permission for his burial in his hometown, the establishment of an ancestral hall for worship. With the help of the Haizhou prefectural government, the Wang family constructed Wang Minghe’s tomb according to the standards for a first-rank official, buried him in his hometown, and built an ancestral hall for worship. In the late Ming and early Qing dynasties, the Danglu Wang Ancestral Hall was destroyed in battles with Qing forces but was later rebuilt. It underwent a second restoration during the Republican era. At that time, the ancestral hall covered several acres, with a construction area of around 1,500 square meters. It featured a traditional quadrangle structure: a main hall with three bays, three-bay side halls on the east and west, and a mountain gate at the front. In 1994, following discussions with the township government, the Wang family regained ownership of the ancestral hall. Restoration began in 1997, and by the Double Ninth Festival in 2009—during the third reconstruction—the main hall was completed. Side halls, a stele corridor, and the mountain gate were added later. Though the side halls had been seriously damaged, the restoration retained as much as possible of the original Ming-era foundations, wall frames, and construction materials. The mountain gate and courtyard were also restored strictly in the architectural style of the Ming Dynasty. In recent years, Wang clan descendants have collected over 200 cultural relics related to the ancestral hall, including horse saddles used by Wang Minghe’s troops during the Battle of Hailongtun in Guizhou, as well as stone tablets and carvings from the tombs of Wang Minghe and his relatives. The Danglu Wang Family Ancestral Hall holds both cultural heritage and folk research significance.
