The Stele of Hailing County's Tribute Imperial Examination Graduates

It is situated on the northern end of the eastern wall within the compound of Hailing Early Childhood Education Center in Hailing District, Lianyungang City. The stele stands 177 cm tall, 81 cm wide, and 20 cm thick; its base is 56 cm high and 120 cm wide. The top of the stele is arched and decorated with cloud motifs. The stone is a limestone sedimentary rock. The stele was erected in the fifth year of the Chenghua era of the Ming Dynasty (1469). The top features seal script measuring 7 cm per character, while the main text is in regular script with characters 2 cm in size. The text was composed by Wang Gai of Luling, calligraphed by Tang Zhen of Qiantang, and the title was inscribed in seal script by Cheng Luo of Jianchang. Over 500 characters remain intact. The Stele of Hailing County's Tribute Imperial Examination Graduates serves as a physical artifact for the study of the imperial examination system during the Ming Dynasty and holds certain historical value.

It was designated as one of the first batch of cultural relics protection units in Lianyungang City in 1982.
