Shennong Era · Yanghe Agricultural Carnival is located in Yanghe Town, Yanghe New District, Jiangsu Province, covering a planned area of 567 acres. It has been developed with five functional zones: the Theme Appreciation Area, Leisure Experience Area, Scientific Research & Innovation Area, and Comprehensive Service Area. It is an agricultural-themed park that integrates agricultural production, agricultural science education, farmer training, technological R&D, and brand promotion. With Shennong (the Divine Farmer) as its narrative backdrop and China’s 5,000-year farming civilization as its cultural context, the carnival revisits agrarian culture and agricultural heritage. It features eight themed exhibition halls: the Vegetable Hall, Grain Hall, Fiber Hall, Flower Hall, Fruit Tree Hall, Traditional Chinese Medicine Hall, Ecology Hall, and Desert Hall, showcasing 1,300 species of flora and fauna, over 250 types of modern agricultural high-tech, and more than 50 cultivation models.

The Yanghe Agricultural Carnival is a strategic initiative by Yanghe New District to implement the 19th National Congress of the Communist Party of China's call for prioritizing agricultural and rural development. It represents an active exploration in promoting industrial prosperity for the people and rural revitalization. In recent years, Yanghe New District has closely focused on its development vision of “a green wine capital and a pastoral new city.” With the development of all-for-one tourism as the overarching strategy and the construction of an ecological economy demonstration zone as the key driver, the district is committed to “tourism + agriculture,” accelerating the implementation of the rural revitalization strategy, and striving to create a “Yanghe model” for a beautiful China. To meet the growing needs of the people for a better life, the district has actively explored new pathways for achieving “stronger agriculture, wealthier farmers, and more beautiful rural areas.” The 100-square-kilometer Yanghe National Agricultural Park has been planned and constructed, and Shennong Era · Yanghe Agricultural Carnival serves as its core flagship project.

In line with the overall requirements of “prosperous industries, livable ecology, civilized rural culture, effective governance, and prosperous living,” and centered on the goals of “stronger agriculture, more beautiful rural areas, and wealthier farmers,” Yanghe New District is accelerating the comprehensive upgrading of agriculture, the overall progress of rural areas, and the all-round development of farmers. It is fostering a new pattern of integrated urban-rural development and working to establish a nationally influential “rural revitalization” demonstration zone. The district adheres to science and technology-driven agriculture and industry-led prosperity for farmers, building a modern agricultural industry system focused on medicinal flowers, premium fruits and vegetables, and organic rice and wheat. It has gradually optimized and adjusted the agricultural industrial structure, effectively addressing key issues facing agriculture, rural areas, and farmers. The district emphasizes the pivotal role of agricultural product processing in integrating the primary, secondary, and tertiary industries, vigorously advancing the construction of agricultural product processing parks, attracting a number of high-tech and high-efficiency processing enterprises to cluster and develop within the parks, and accelerating the R&D and production of specialty agricultural products such as rose essential oil, lotus root juice, and lotus root powder. This extends the industrial chain and enhances the value chain. The district has successively attracted modern agricultural projects such as Runyi International Agriculture and Rose Town, promoted vocational farmer training to help farmers become professionals in emerging sectors, and enabled farmers to achieve leaseback entrepreneurship and employment within the parks. As a result, their incomes have increased, and their sense of well-being has grown stronger.

Yanghe Town: The administrative area of Yanghe Town covers 198.68 square kilometers, with a population of 238,200. It governs 12 neighborhood committees and 34 village committees. The administrative region of Yanghe Town consists of the former jurisdictions of Cangji Town, Zhenglou Town, and Yanghe Town, as well as the three village committees of Zhao Wei, Zhuo Ma, and Qiao Bei from Yangbei Town, the three village committees of Ge Luo, Huang Zhuang, and Ma Yuan from Luowei Township, the three village committees of Xingyue, Guoyuan, and Huangqiao from Nancai Township, and the two village committees of Zha Kou and Hongmiao from Chenzhen Town.
