Ban闸 Site

The Ban闸 Site is a cultural heritage conservation unit of Jiangsu Province.

The Ban闸 Site is located in the enclosed area formed by Meigao Road, Xiangyu Avenue, and the Li Canal within the Ecological and Cultural Tourism Zone of Huai'an City. The site itself mainly consists of five key components: an ancient river channel, a water gate, dikes, docks, and building foundations. Within its area, there are also cultural relics such as the Sanyuan Palace and the ruins of the Huai'an Customs Office. In 2015 and 2016, the Nanjing Museum and the Huai'an Museum jointly conducted two archaeological excavations at the Ban闸 Site, uncovering a total area of approximately 5,500 square meters and retrieving over 3,000 artifacts including a large number of ceramics, iron tools, copper coins, and stone architectural components.
