Colorful Dutch Village

A provincial four-star rural tourism destination. In 1919, Zhang Jian hired Dutch water conservancy experts — who had the most experience and most advanced technology in land reclamation from the sea — to plan the farmland and water conservancy projects in Xinfeng. They established a four-tiered irrigation and drainage system consisting of zones, plots, drains, and ditches, earning Xinfeng the reputation as the “No. 1 Town in Village and Town Planning during the Republic of China.” The Dutch Flower Sea project deeply explores the historical heritage of being the No. 1 town in village and town planning during the Republic of China. Based on the original terrain and without altering the existing landforms, it has been refurbished using design elements such as “countryside, river networks, wooden architecture, windmills, and flower seas,” and features the iconic Dutch tulip. It creates a vibrant flower sea that combines sightseeing, entertainment, dining, and planting, offering an authentic Dutch ambiance and becoming a beautiful cultural tourism calling card for Xinfeng. In 2013, it was successfully designated as a provincial four-star rural tourism destination.
