Summer Bamboo Shoot Picking Joy Tour – The Fragrant Green Bamboo Shoot Season at Guanyin Mountain

To promote the green bamboo shoots of Guanyin Mountain, on the opening day of June 19th, the organizers specially built a 3.6-meter-tall “green bamboo shoot,” representing the bamboo shoot farmers’ prayer to Guanyin Bodhisattva, hoping for a bountiful harvest this year. In addition, from June 19th to September 12th during the event period, every Saturday from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM, there will be LIVE concerts, organic agricultural product markets, local food fairs, and free fresh bamboo shoot tastings held in front of the Guanyin Mountain Visitor Center.

During the Guanyin Mountain Green Bamboo Shoot Season, visitors can also take a challenge card to collect stamps at locations such as Hardian Ridge, Lingyun Temple, and the Guanyin Mountain Visitor Center. Once all stamps are collected, participants can enter a lucky draw to win prizes such as a free bamboo shoot feast and farm VIP vouchers each month, with the grand prize being a 32-inch LCD TV!

Guanyin Mountain green bamboo shoots are the main agricultural product of Wugu Township in Taipei County, with the peak harvest season from May to October and a planting area of about 750 hectares. Because the Guanyin Mountain green bamboo shoots have fine fibers, delicate texture, and a sweet taste, they can be used in salads, stir-fries, soups, and “three-cup” dishes, making them popular among visitors. This year’s Guanyin Mountain Green Bamboo Shoot Season also collaborates with local eco-farms, welcoming visitors to pick bamboo shoots in the farms and enjoy a leisurely, healthy bamboo shoot picking trip on Guanyin Mountain, experiencing the joy of being a farmer for a day.
