The sightseeing passport also features hiking activities in the Nikko and Kinugawa region. JR East Japan specially organizes the “Nikko Susuki Hiking Event,” allowing you to admire the sweeping golden sea of Susuki flowers from the magnificent Misty Down Plateau while enjoying a hike through nature.

The “Nikko Susuki Hiking Event” kicks off on June 26th. You can sign up at the Misty Down Plateau Ropeway Parking Lot No. 1 or online. Participation is free, but you’ll need to cover your own transportation costs to and from the meeting point. There’s no guided tour on the hike—you can explore freely using the map provided upon registration. Each participant will receive a map and a round badge as a souvenir.
