The Bitan Suspension Bridge Welcomes the New Year with a Light Show of Spring Festival Music Tonight

As the Lunar New Year approaches, from today (the 17th) until February 14, the Bitan Suspension Bridge Light Show will present festive performances set to joyful New Year songs. Families are welcome to visit Bitan during the Lunar New Year and enjoy the celebratory light show on the bridge, which runs every hour from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM.

To celebrate the Lunar New Year, the Bitan Suspension Bridge Light Show will feature a cycle of nine themes: “Joyful Celebrations with Resounding Drums,” “Rising Step by Step,” “Prosperity in Wealth,” “Turning Fortune Around,” “Spring Returns to the Earth,” “Flowers Bloom in Warm Spring,” “Wealth Flows Where Water Goes,” “Radiant Sunset Glow over Bitan,” and “Blessings of Wealth and Honor.” Each light show lasts about three minutes. The New Year light show uses gold and red as its main color scheme — gold symbolizes treasure, wishing everyone prosperity and a bountiful new year, while red represents joy, bringing springtime cheer and blessings to every home.
During the Spring Festival, from January 31 to February 4 (the first to fifth days of the Lunar New Year), the waterfront shopping area will host “Waterfront Spring Strolls, Scenic Views & Delicious Food” and the “Spring Festival Money Grab Event – Grab Your New Year Luck.” In addition to live singing performances and ShenYou Ji shows, diners who spend over NT$2,000 per table can try their luck grabbing cash vouchers to usher in wealth for the new year.

During the Lunar New Year holiday, the Bitan area and surrounding streets are filled with a joyful festive atmosphere. Aside from enjoying the picturesque scenery surrounded by mountains and water, visitors can also soak up the lively New Year vibe. While in Bitan, don’t miss exploring nearby alleys and old streets for local delicacies such as rice noodle soup, pig’s blood cake, caramel-flavored braised snacks, and century-old bakeries. Hiking and photography enthusiasts can also take a refreshing walk along the Hemeshan Trail for a phytoncide-filled experience, or plan a fulfilling one-day trip followed by a visit to the Wulai Scenic Area, known for its hot springs, cherry blossoms, and waterfalls — perfect for soaking in hot springs, viewing blossoms, and enjoying the waterfalls.
