Former Residence of Li Gongpu

The former residence of Li Gongpu is a cultural relic protection unit of Jiangsu Province.

The former residence of Li Gongpu faces south and consists of three sections, all built with a brick-and-wood structure and featuring flush gable roofs. The first section is a gatehouse, the second a single-story flower hall, and the third a two-story residential building. Each section has a width of three bays. The complex is enclosed by a perimeter wall. The main buildings retain the traditional architectural style of the early Republican era, with covered corridors under the front eaves, floor-to-ceiling wooden lattice windows facing south in the main hall, and half-wall, half-window designs on the side rooms, while the upper ends of the east and west gables are equipped with fire walls. The current site covers an area of 344 square meters, with a built-up area of 200 square meters. The residence is now open to the public as an exhibition room for the “Exhibition of Li Gongpu’s Life and Deeds.” The residence has been restored and opened to the public, allowing future generations to learn about his legendary life, immortal achievements, and revolutionary spirit. It serves as an effective platform for people from all walks of life to deeply mourn and cherish the memory of Comrade Gongpu, as well as a patriotic education base for later generations to commemorate martyrs and educate youth. It holds significant practical importance for the cultural and harmonious development of Changzhou.

On December 19, 2011, the People's Government of Jiangsu Province designated it as a cultural relic protection unit of the seventh batch at the provincial level.
